3. Orders
All orders placed through the website are subject to product availability. Items with the alert “This item can only be sold to customers with a minimal age of 18 years old.” can only be sold to customers with a minimal age of 18 years old. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including inaccuracies in product pricing or suspected fraudulent activity.
Once an order is placed, you will receive an email confirmation. However, this does not constitute formal acceptance of your order. A contract is only formed when we confirm shipment of the products.

4. Prices and Payment
All prices listed on the website are in Euros unless otherwise stated, and exclude shipping costs and any applicable taxes unless specified otherwise.
We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders that have already been confirmed.
Payment must be made in full before the products are shipped, using one of the payment methods specified on the website.

5. Shipping and Delivery
Due to shipment laws, no edged weapons can be shipped outside of the EU. Items marked with the alert “Freely available blank weapon” are not allowed to be bought online and shipped. These items need to be bought by appointment on location or at a show.

We aim to process and ship all orders as quickly as possible. Delivery times are indicative and may vary depending on the destination and product availability.
We are not liable for delays caused by third-party carriers or circumstances beyond our control.

6. Right of Withdrawal and Return Policy
Consumers have the right to cancel their order within 14 days of receiving the products without providing any reason.

To qualify for a refund, the products must be returned in their original undamaged condition and packaging. The item may not have been modified or cleaned in any way. Any damage up to a single small scratch can result in a no-refund.

Purchases made with a payment plan longer than 30 days are not qualified for a return once received. Customers agreeing to a payment plan automatically agree with this no return policy. 

Return shipping costs and risks are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise agreed.
Customized or personalized products cannot be returned unless they are defective.

7. Liability
While we strive to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information on our website, we make no guarantees regarding the reliability or accuracy of the content.
Edged Militaria is not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from the use or inability to use our website, or from the purchase of products through the website.

8. Intellectual Property Rights
All content on this website, including but not limited to text, images, logos, and product descriptions, is the property of Edged Militaria or is used with permission from the respective rights holders.
No part of the website may be copied, distributed, or otherwise used without our explicit written consent.

2. Scope & Definitions
Website: https://edgedmilitaria.com (the “Site”).
Weapons: items that qualify as “weapons” under Belgian law (including blank weapons such as daggers/knives and historical/folkloristic/decorative weapons).
Non-weapon items: objects that do not qualify as weapons (e.g., purely decorative/ceremonial objects objectively unfit for use as a weapon).
Consumer: a natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.
B2B / Recognised person: licensed dealers, recognised collectors, museums or other legally recognised entities.
Note: Each product page includes our good-faith classification (“freely available weapon or not a weapon”). Final legal qualification remains with the competent authorities.

3. Catalogue-only for Weapons
Belgian law prohibits the distance sale (including internet/post order) of any weapon to private individuals. Our Site therefore serves as a catalogue only for items that qualify as weapons: we may show availability and prices, but no online contract is concluded for such items and no shipping to private individuals is offered. Sales of weapons to private individuals are done in person only (see §7).

4. Orders & Contract Formation
All orders placed through the website are subject to product availability.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including inaccuracies in product pricing or suspected fraudulent activity.
Once an order is placed, you will receive an email confirmation. However, this does not constitute formal acceptance of your order. A contract is only formed when we confirm shipment of the products.

Non-weapon items (distance sales): You may order online. Acknowledgement emails are not acceptance; a contract is formed only when we explicitly confirm acceptance or dispatch.

Weapons to private individuals: No online orders. Contact us to book an in-person appointment; the contract is concluded physically after checks (see §6–7).

B2B / Recognised persons: Contact us for verification and paperwork; the contract is concluded once we accept in writing.

We may refuse any intended transaction that would breach law, export/transport controls or carrier restrictions.

5. Prices, Taxes & Invoices

6. Age, Identity & Qualification Checks
Where required by law, we verify age and identity/qualification (e.g., recognition/licence for B2B). We may refuse a sale if we cannot complete verification.
 
7. Shipping & Delivery
7.1 Private individuals (B2C) – weapons
• No shipping. Transfer only in person in Belgium (or at an authorised fair), after checks. justitie.belgium.be
7.2 B2B / Recognised persons
• Shipment of weapons may be possible between recognised persons (e.g., licensed dealers, recognised collectors, museums) subject to status verification, register obligations and any permits.
• Outside the EU: Cross-border shipments must comply with export/transfer rules and destination-country law.
7.3 Non-weapon items
• Shipped where lawful and accepted by carriers. Delivery times are indicative only. We are not liable for carrier/authority delays or refusals.
7.4 Carrier restrictions
Postal/courier operators may ban knives/daggers/sharp objects even when a transaction is lawful. Acceptance is at the carrier’s sole discretion.
 
8. Collection at Fairs & Events
Sales of freely available weapons to private individuals may occur at authorised fairs subject to the organiser’s official permit and on-site conditions. justitie.belgium.be
 
9. Right of Withdrawal & Returns
9.1 Distance sales – non-weapon items (consumers only)
• You may withdraw within 14 days of receipt, without giving reasons.
• Return the item in original condition/packaging; you bear return costs and risk unless we agree otherwise. We may deduct for any loss in value due to handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature/characteristics/functioning of the goods.
9.2 In-person sales (including weapons)
• The 14-day withdrawal right for distance contracts does not apply. Returns are only if we expressly agree or where mandatory consumer law applies.
 
10. Condition & Authenticity
• Most items are antique; age-consistent wear, patina, small defects are expected.
• We provide condition reports in good faith; measurements and dates are approximate.
• Items classified as weapons are sold as collectibles and not for use; do not sharpen/modify.
 
11. Weapons Compliance
• No distance sale of weapons (including blank weapons / daggers and historical/folkloristic/decorative weapons) to private individuals; catalogue-only online. justitie.belgium.be
• In-person transfer for private individuals (ID/age checks).
• B2B/Recognised transactions possible with documentation and registers.
• Carrying/transport of freely available weapons is subject to a lawful reason; compliance is the buyer’s responsibility after collection. justitie.belgium.be
 
12. International Trade, Cultural Goods & CITES
• Cross-border trade may require export/transfer permits, import licences or importer statements (e.g., EU Regulation 2019/880 on the import of cultural goods; rules tightened June 2025). We ship only once required documents are in place. EUR-LexLegislation.gov.ukTaxation and Customs Union
• Materials from protected species (e.g., ivory) are subject to CITES/EU restrictions; only narrowly defined exemptions may apply. Buyers are responsible for any permits and compliance in their jurisdiction. 
 
13. Prohibited Uses of the Site
You must not misuse the Site (e.g., unlawful content, scraping, interfering with security, attempting illegal purchases, or encouraging prohibited conduct).
 
14. Intellectual Property
All Site content (texts, images, logos, product descriptions) is owned by Edged Militaria or used under licence. Do not copy, distribute or use content without written consent.
 
15. Privacy & Cookies
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy & Cookie Policy (separate document). We may process ID/age/qualification data at appointments to meet legal obligations.
 
16. Liability & Force Majeure
We do our best to ensure accurate information but do not guarantee that descriptions or availability are error-free. We are not liable for indirect damages or for delays/refusals by carriers or authorities. Nothing limits liability where such limitation is unlawful.
 
17. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. The version published on the Site applies to your use and purchases made thereafter.
 
18. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms and any non-contractual obligations are governed by Belgian law. Courts in Belgium have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections.
