Beautiful short high-quality black steel imperial hunting dagger made by J.A. Henckels. Textbook example. All-steel construction with black patina. Stag horn grip. The top screw has been painted black. Clean triple-etched nickel-plated blade with light corrosion spots. Typical Henckels blade measuring 22.8cm. Beautiful etched panels with hunting motifs. The backside of the blade is stamped with the J.A. Henckels Zwillingswerk logo. The green felt buffer pad is still partially present. Very thick and heavy blade. The leather scabbard has black steel scabbard fittings. The fittings are number stamped under the staples. The skinning knife is missing on this dagger. Attached to the scabbard is a brown leather frog in medium condition. The leather grip snap loop is broken in multiple spots and restored with green stitching on one side. Working brown snap button. A very nice and rare dagger.
