EK2 Wide frame by “24”

The Wide Frame EK2 is a sought-after and relatively rare variant of the Iron Cross. This particular piece is a fine, authentic example. The core retains most of its original black paint, with some wear visible on both sides. The wide frame displays typical age-related toning and patination, along with minor handling wear on the beading. The original suspension ring is intact and bears the Präsidialkanzlei number “24,” indicating it was manufactured by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Hanauer Plakettenhersteller in Hanau am Main. This Wide Frame EK2 comes with a red, white, and black award ribbon, which remains vibrant in color. Overall, the cross is in very good condition.
