Near-mint and well-gilded German WW2 deluxe forestry dagger made by Carl Eickhorn. A known piece in the collectors’ community, featuring the stamped Eickhorn logo on the back and marked “Ges. Gesch.” under the leather buffer pad. Clean, gold-gilded hilt and clamshell. This is the heavy model made from brass, not zinc. The steel blade is etched on three sides with hunting motifs and retains its full size. The spine of the blade is etched with the distributor’s mark, “W. Michovius Cottbus.” A typical Eickhorn deluxe scabbard with a highly detailed bottom fitting, which is attached to the black leather with two staples. The fittings are stamped with the number “12” under the staples. The dagger is complete with a beautiful brown leather frog, tightly attached. The back of the frog is covered in green leather.
