SA-Feldjägerkorps Sabre by Eickhorn

Extremely rare SA Feldjägerkorps sabre made by Carl Eickhorn.
The SA-Feljägerkorps was one of the few political elements to carry a saber sidearm. Formed in October 1933 by Göring to function as an SA-police type unit in the State of Prussia, it was made up of personnel of former police units that were drawn from the SA and SS elements.
This rare sabre model has been pictures in multiple reference books such as “German Swords of world war 2” by Thomas M. Johnson and “Swords of Germany 1900/1945” by John R. Angolia.
The sabre is constructed with a heavy brass hilt, bearing the Feldjägerkorps insigne on the front with the prussian eagle and swastika on its chest. The emblem is textbook mounted on the sword with tho pins that can be seen on the inside of the hilt. The grip is in decent shape, with all the grip wire still in place. The nickel plated steel blade is etched on the frontside with the SA motto “Alles für Deutschland”. This etch panel is very deep and in the typical style of Eickhorn etchwork. The blade is stamped on the backside under the hilt with the double oval Eickhorn makers mark. The blade has some minor nicks on the cutting edge. As you can see in the pictures, the first 6cm of the blade is corroded black. This is probably due to storage where the blade was not all the way inside the scabbard. The leather buffer pad is still in place. The steel scabbard has both scabbard screws in place. The scabbard has been repainted black. The total length of the sabre inside the scabbard is 97cm.
Overall, this is an extremely rare sabre in light worn condition, but one you might never see again…
