A rare RZM production M7/73 SA dagger with magnetic steel cross guards, made by F. und A. Helbig. Helbig and David Malsch (M7/70) were known to produce SA daggers with steel cross guards, typically larger than the standard nickel-plated zinc versions, resulting in a thicker grip.
The grip has a nickel silver grip eagle and SA roundel. The steel scabbard retains its original brown paint with visible “age hairs” and nickel-plated steel scabbard fittings with light corrosion marks. The steel blade has a lightly etched motto and RZM mark, characteristic of these makers. The blade is in decent condition with minor corrosion and sharpening. A true collector’s piece.
