Rare Etched Dress Bayonet by Robert Klaas

German WW2 dress bayonet with etched blade made by Robert Klaas. The bayonet is the short model with a total length of 35,5cm. It has a nickel plated zinc hilt with some hitting damage on the front, black bakelite grip plates held on by two aluminum rivets. The red felt insert is in place. The clean nickel plated steel blade has the textbook Robert Klaas etch panel on the backside. This etch panel is visually very appealing as it runs inside the fuller of the blade. It also has the “Ges. Gesch.” Mark near the hilt. The frontside of the blade is stamped on the ricasso with the Robert Klaas maker’s mark. The leather buffer pad is in place. The original black painted steel scabbard is in decent condition, with a small hand engraving in the paint reading “42 SS Koller”. The hook on the scabbard is slightly loose making it move 10° in each direction.
