Puma Tool Grip Trench Knife

Very rare and desirable Puma trench knife with grip tools. This is the black grip model with grip plates made from black bakelite/pressed material. These black models are always unmarked. Because of the plastic material used for the grip plates, they are often broken in the weakest point of the grip in the middle, as is this one. The same type of knife is published in the well-known French combat knife book “Couteaux et Poignards-Baïonnettes dans L’armée Allemande 1914-1945” by Christian Méry on page 252. This knife is in overall great condition. Steel construction with blackened steel tools. The tools have close to no wear on them. The grip plates are held on by three steel rivets. Steel cross guard plate. Very clean steel blade still showing a lot of cross grain. Light runner, corrosion, and sharpening marks but nothing deep. A clean original black painted steel scabbard with the double clip on the back, textbook for this type of knife. A standout piece for a trench knife collection.
