M42 Trench knife

German WW2 M42 combat knife with bowie style blade. Thick wooden grip plates held on by three steel rivets. Note the grip plates move slightly. One piece constructed steel blade. The backside of the blade is stamped “Solingen”. Steel scabbard that appears to be repainted.
