M42 Trench knife by Robert Klaas

Maker marked M42 combat knife made by Robert Klaas. It is hard to find a M42 with makers mark, and this maker is even more uncommon. One piece steel construction blade and hilt. Wooden grip plates held on by three steel rivets. The blade has been sharpened and the tip has been retipped. The blade length is 13,3cm. The total knife length is 24,7cm. The backside of the blade is stamped with the Robert Klaas two cranes logo. The steel scabbard retains 50% of its original black paint. It is the scabbard model with the long clip on the backside.
