Rare pattern Luftwaffe Etched dress bayonet made by Erst Pack. Nickel plated zinc hilt, some of the nickel has worn off. Black bakelite grip plates held on by the typical Pack grip screws, off center as it should be. Nickel plated steel blade showing light corrosion on both sides. The blade is etched on the frontside with the textbook Pack Nr. 4 Luftwaffe aviator etch panel, showing the typical text “Zur Erinnerung an Meine Dienstzeit” next to a Storch airplane. This etch panel is presented in the Pack catalogue in 1938. Note the high detail in the etch panel on the plane, with a small swastika on the tail. The backside of the blade is etched with the Siegfried Waffen E. Pack & Söhne Solingen makers mark. The blade sits slightly loose in the hilt, making it “wobble”. The leather buffer pad is still in place. The steel scabbard still retains most of its original black paint, showing visible age hairs. The single scabbard screw on the front is still in place. Attached to the scabbard is a black leather frog.
