Elegant Löwenkopfsäbel retailed by E.W. Becher, Bonn, featuring a pattern-welded Damascus (Damaststahl) blade with frosted gilt panels and a gilt/decorated spine stamped to the retailer. Gilt-brass hilt with lion-head pommel and matching lion-head quillon; sharkskin grip with triple wire. Oval langet with crossed trophies points to artillery ownership. Complete with the original nickel-plated steel scabbard (two rings) and the rare officer’s portepee. Condition: very good—strong gilding and crisp Damascus pattern; light handling and honest scabbard wear. A high-grade, parade-quality Kaiserzeit officer’s saber.
