Etched Dress Bayonet by Hörster

German WW2 short model etched dress bayonet made by E. & F. Hörster. Overall worn condition. Nickel plated zinc hilt with black bakelite grip plates held on by two steel rivets. A small crack in the bakelite on the front. Nickel plated steel blade etched on the frontside with the textbook Hörster etch panel bearing the typical sentence “Für Erinnerung an meine Dienstzeit” (“For remembrance of my service time”) next to the eagle. The frontside is also stamped with the Hörster makers mark. The condition of the blade can be seen on the pictures, as some of the nickel plating has chipped off. The tip of the blade is slightly bend. The blade sits slightly loose in the hilt creating a light “wobble” when shaking. The leather buffer pad is in place. The steel scabbard retains its original black paint.
