Early NSKK Dagger by Herbertz & Meurer

Early nickel silver cross guards, the bottom one stamped with the group mark “He”. Brown wooden grip with nickel silver grip eagle and SA roundel. All the brown enamel is still present in the roundel. The fitting between the cross guards and the grip is not perfect. Steel blade in great condition showing cross grain. The frontside of the blade is etched with the SA motto “Alles Für Deutschland”. The backside of the blade is etched with the makers mark “Herbertz & Meurer Solingen – GR.”. The blade has some light black corrosion marks. The steel scabbard has most of the black finish worn off. It has nickel silver scabbard fittings with all four screws in place. The scabbard ring shows green “leather oxidation” that can be cleaned off.
