Early HJ Knife by Hartkopf & Co.

Early production HJ knife made by Hartkopf & Co. Solingen. Magnetic steel hilt. Black Bakelite grip plates held on by two rivets. The grip plate on the back is cracked near the bottom and glued. Small-size HJ grip emblem that moves when touched, with no cracks in the enamel. Early-style blade without ricasso, lightly etched on the front side with the HJ motto “Blut und Ehre!”. Corrosion and sharpening marks present. The backside of the blade is stamped with the Hartkopf & Co. Solingen logo and “Ges. Geschützt.” The blade sits loosely in the grip making it wobble. Black repainted steel scabbard with a black leather belt loop and a working snap button.
