Early HJ Knife by Carl Schmidt

Early production HJ knife made by Carl Schmidt in Solingen. Magnetic steel hilt. Black Bakelite grip plates held on by two nickel rivets. Small-size HJ grip emblem that sits tightly in the grip, with no cracks in the enamel. Early-style blade without ricasso. The frontside of the blade has the HJ motto “Blut und Ehre!” etched. Some light corrosion marks present. The backside of the blade is stamped with the Carl Schmidt Schn Solingen makers mark and “Ges. Gesch”. The leather buffer pad is still in place. Original Black repainted steel scabbard with a black leather belt loop and a working snap button. The knife has some difficulties going into the scabbard.
