Early 1st model Luftwaffe dagger by SMF

Early production nickel silver 1st model Luftwaffe dagger – “Borddolch” made by SMF. Nickel silver cross guard and pommel with gold-colored crosses. Blue leather-covered grip with intact grip wire wrapping. Clean nickel-plated blade, etched with the SMF Solingen logo and stamped with the “8” Waffenamt. Blue leather buffer pad in place. Steel scabbard covered with original blue leather. Nickel silver scabbard fittings held on by 5 screws. Heavy nickel silver chain and working snap clip.
