Deluxe Forestry Dagger with Deer Clamshell by Eickhorn

Rare Deer clamshell variant of the well known Eickhorn forestry deluxe dagger in fantastic condition. Aluminum hilt and clamshell. The regular model has the rooster on the clamshell, as can be seen on my website here in the forestry daggers category. This is a rare variant with a deer on the clamshell. These variants were always made in aluminum. Great condition with all the gilding still present and all 6 grip acorns in place. Very clean steel blade, etched on both sides with forestry motifs and etched on the spine with oak leaf patterns and the distributors mark “W. Michovius Cottbus”. The backside of the blade is stamped with the Carl Eickhorn logo. The clamshell is stamped on the backside under the green felt buffer pad with the number “1451”. The black leather scabbard is in great condition and has gilded brass fittings. Textbook Eickhorn fittings with very detailed hand engraved bottom fitting featuring a deer. The backsides of the fittings are stamped with the number “15” under the staples. The dagger is complete with a silver and green forestry portepee and a brown leather frog, both is great condition. A rare and stunning piece.
