Early transformed production chained NSKK dagger made by Gebrüder Heller. This is a rare textbook transformation dagger where they took an early nickel silver SA dagger, painted the scabbard black, and added the very thick steel chain to the scabbard. The dagger features nickel silver cross guards, with the bottom stamped with the Gruppe mark “BO”. Brown wooden grip. The nickel silver eagle and SA roundel are nicely inlaid. The backside of the grip has the initials “AE” carved in the wood. Clean steel blade with light corrosion spots. The front of the blade is darkly etched with the SA motto “Alles für Deutschland”, and the back is etched with the J.P. Sauer & Sohn anchor logo. The steel scabbard has it’s original black paint, nickel silver top and bottom fittings and a nickel plated steel center fitting. All 5 screws are in place and untouched. The magnetic steel chain is attached with thick steel donut rings. The backside of the chain is stamped “Musterschutz NSKK Korpsführung”. The snap clip is in working order. A good condition dagger you don’t come across very often.
